The Process To Place Veneers
Placing veneers typically takes two to three trips to the dentist – one for a consultation and the other two to make and apply the veneers. At Sheppard Village Dental we only utilize the highest standard laboratory for the fabrication of all of our work.
Veneers offer the following advantages:
- They provide a natural tooth appearance
- Gum tissue tolerates porcelain well
- Porcelain veneers are stain resistant
- The colour of a porcelain veneer can be selected
- Veneers generally don’t require extensive shaping
- Veneers offer a strong alternative to crowns
Your Personalized Treatment Plan
During your first visit, we will discuss the new shape and look of what we are going to accomplish by placing the new veneer. Once we have a plan in place, we will carefully prepare the teeth for the placement of new veneers. At Sheppard Village Dental we offer a dental diagnostic wax-up which will allow you to see a model of what your teeth will look like once your veneers are placed.
Taking Teeth Impressions
The next step is to take an impression of the teeth. The impression will then be sent to our laboratory for the final product to be fabricated. This can take between 7 – 10 days. While the new veneers are being fabricated at the lab, we will provide you with a beautiful temporary solution to wear in the meantime.
After the veneers are finalized, we will make every effort to ensure that your new veneers feel just like your natural teeth. Your comfort and satisfaction are our top priorities. Once you feel comfortable, we will bond your veneers in place so that you can enjoy your new smile for many years to come.
